In Case You Should Ask

if I could love you

it would be a thunderstorm love -

sudden and unexpected.

I would be overpowering

and full of surge and lightning.

Whenever I saw you

my eyes would be fast-moving clouds

and my kisses would begin

as slow, scattered drops of rain

drying slowly.
